Bitbrooks Share: privacy and use

Who runs this instance

Bitbrooks Share is our self-hosted handoff service, using Hemmelig software. BITBROOKS LTD operates this instance; the upstream software project is not your service operator. Contact us at the address above for support and privacy requests.

What is processed

The service stores encrypted messages, expiry and view-limit settings and the metadata needed to deliver and protect a handoff. Registered accounts contain identity, authentication and session information. Hosting and security logs may contain technical request information. We do not need or ask you to send us a decryption key for support.

Messages expire according to the limits selected by the sender. Removal from the active service is distinct from backup rotation. Do not use this service as permanent storage or as the only copy of information. Instance analytics and file uploads are disabled in the current deployment.

Privacy and safe use

We process administrative and security information on the basis of our legitimate interests in providing secure handoffs and, where relevant, our contract with you. Where we handle information on a business customer’s instructions, that business remains responsible for its use and lawful sharing.

Send information only to an intended recipient, share the link carefully, and use an appropriate expiry and view limit. Do not send unlawful content or information you have no authority to share. No system can guarantee absolute security.
